Random DVD Drive Spinups

Hi,i am facing a strange problem with my asus notebook. problem of "random DVD drive spinup" so to speak.Well,whenever i start WMP on my notebook, insert a Usb device, start VLC media player, or whenever autorun is executed,my dvd Drive spins up. there isnt any disc inside it either. everything else works fine. I took it to a service center and got my Drive replaced; but the problem still continues.I am not able to find out any solution to it even after "Scrounging the web" for a solution. please help me with this issue,any help is appreciated..

make sure your pc is free from malwares .. scan your pc with avira rescue disc. Also try booting into safe mode and check the symptoms there.
