ram problem with Windows exp. Index

Hello friends

Problem is that I replaced my 2x1GB ram with a single 2GB ram. Started computer and clicked Windows assessment index for ratings and it came up with an error saying : windows can not complete assessment due to problem in driver/component...

So I thought of testing ram....run far cry 3 ... everything ok.... run diablo iii .....ok... run gta iv ....ok again. ..

What is your opinions now... should I switch back again to 1x2GB ...what could be the problem !!!!

Update : just did memtest86 and test finished without any error...

Also tell me can I go for 3GB ram I.e. 2GB+1GB in two channels. ...:what:

> you can use 2+1 GB ram sticks but they will not run in dual channel. Dual channel requires sticks of equal capacity.
