I've got 2 512 MB modules of DDR 400 Mhz. But in my BIOS, the RAM frequency is set to 333 Mhz. I've checked that my mobo supports 400 Mhz. So what's the problem? Can I safely set it to 400 Mhz?

Hello Friend,
Ok u have 2x512 ddr400 ram R these of same company and chipset first check that & which processor r u using some time mobo change frequency to suit the processor so first tell us which processr & mobo chipset u r having or give ur complete system rig. :)

Both RAM modules are from the same company. And the proccy is an Athlon 64 running at 1.81 Ghz. So in theory, it should work. And I know that.
I just want to know if anyone else has faced similar issues and if it's safe to make it 400 Mhz.

When i have my Old Mercury PVM7 Mobo, i have 2 mem modules, a 256MB DDR400 and a 512MB DDR333.. Actually when i put my mem modules i dnt know that d second one is 333 one. And when i see BIOS i was schocked to see the 333MHz... After check them with Everest, i came to know that both of em were not 400MHz module... So be sure tat both of em are 400MHz mem module...
Otherwise, juz change the RAM freq option from Auto->400MHz... Caution: It may lead to some system instability. So be careful with tat...

Both of 'em are 400 Mhz. I'm sure about that.
I knew about the solution anyway. I just wanted to make sure that it was safe. I'll try it anyway. Thanks all :)

Since u r using AMD proccy - first tell me ur current HTT speed (FSB). Cause a lower HTT speed can underclock ur ram if FSB : DRAM is locked at a particular ratio. Also "if ur ram specs say that its 400mhz capable" - only then manually set the speed to 400Mhz in ur bios.
