RAM addition help!

Hello all,i m in a big confusion plz help.I have transcend 2*1gb ddr2 667mhz ram running in dual channel mode,can i add an another 2gb ram stick to it or if i get a good deal on 2*2gb ram buy this & sell my old rams.

I dont think you will get good deals in DDR 2 RAM now.


If your motherboard has empty ports than I reccomend to buy a single 2 GB Ram stick otherwise I dont find it worth upgrading to 4 GB.

YOu could remove one RAM stick and add a 2 GB stick but performance boost you will get is minimal.

Complete upgrade is reccomended.

Well from your signature mobo you have 4 RAM slots. I would rather suggest to go for 2gb stick than selling older one.

I really don't think so. He has good processor and GFX and SMPS is alos from corsair why complete upgrade??? I think upgrading RAM will do.

If you really want to upgrade to 4gb,I suggest going for 2x2gb in dual channel.
However keep in mind that if you are using 32bit OS ,then upgrading to 4gb is useless.

u have bought corsair 2*2GB Rams ....good move...

what about old transcend Rams....

Sorry guys didnt update this thread.Was in a big confusion upgrade the whole pc to sandybridge or just add ram,finally thought add ram and use it untill the new platform arrives.So,bought new corsair 2x2gb 800mhz ram.Old rams will be u doing its duty in my cousin's computer.
