if u dont use hard disks of the same capacity while using RAID u will lose the extra capacity of the larger drives in the raid system .. means if u have a 40 gb and a 80 gb hard drive in raid .. then it will be detected as 2 * 40 gb hdd's . this is wht i could understand from here
