Due to DATABASE ERROR i cannot continue with my old thread regarding ram. So i have to open a new one. Anyhow pls clear my doubts regarding RAM.

I have ASUS MBM4A78T-E with Transcend 2GB(1333) ram,Windows vista 32 bit.

I thought of upgrading the RAM to 4GB(1333) with Corsair product as specified in the QVL of motherboard.

But at the end it is written: "When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended."

1) does it mean that for my case upgradation is useless and i should be happy with what i have now?

Next: if upgradation is not supported then i want to use corsair product(for its performance) instead of transcend. For that which one is better to use:

2)Single module 2pcs OR kit of 2. is it all the same?
3) can a single module be used from a kit of 2 or it works as a pair?

1. 3.25Gb usable & the rest won't be used in 32bit OS. but you can dedicate rest to your IGP (512Mb max).

2. if you are using with the old ram, 1 single 2Gb stick is better as you won't notice performance diff.

3. as a single stick works just fine.

thanks SAM bhai.

I will keep transcend as a stand by and will use CORSAIR.(hope RAM quality has not degrade as that of PSUs) now how to allocate ram for IGP?
