I am messed up with a big problem. I own a intex pc with config. 17"
crt, gigabyte 8186GVMK motherboard, 80 gb sata WD Hard disk, 256 MB
DDR1 RAM, 450W PSU and LITE-ON CD-RW drive and a MICROTEK 600VA UPS.
problem is that there is very irregular and fluctuating power supply
in our area, so my ups used to could not get charged enough to take
the load of 17"monitor and cpu and often made the system reboot while
coping up with fluctuations also, as i had a 5 KVA stabilizer in my
house so,i bypassed the monitor to direct power supply,also my cpu had
a problem like when i pushed the power button the green led glew and
the red led did not glew( perhaps the HDD led) and neither the beep
sound came and the monitor displayed {SIGNAL CABLE DISCONNECT)
,sometimes simpley the cpu did not start ,nothing, blank... first i
thought to be ram module problem as dusting my cpu and opening ram
slot and then putting it back worked, but slowly it became a chronic
problem i contacted my distributor he said the psu had the issue, but
i had thrown its warranty label which came off due to heating during
dusting off the cpu so no warranty, i myself dismantled the psu and
dusted it off and put it in sun,and then all was fine , but sometime
same symptom re emerged, i used to do the same thing and it worked, so
it was going somehow.then,one day the power supply of our area got
disturbed for 15 days, after it resumed i came across a strange
problem when i powered the system my monitor went blank, i was shocked
i thought of some loose connections while adjusting the connections
ias i kept my hand on monitors top, the display appeared from the
lower ennd of the monitor and on removing the hand it disappeared, so
i had to make some arrangements to focus the display on the sreen ,
like putting some book or a wood plank below the monitor footrest, so
that the front part was elevated than the back part and the display
was focused properly, but day by day it became more problematic to
adjust the display as i had to put more and more height difference but
the display wont stabilize it came to position on holding in a
particular position and then went back down, I had never came across
such astrange problem in my life, so out of frustration i packed my pc
and kept it for good as my board xams were approaching, after the xams
when i reopened the pc same problems with monitor and psu , same
treatment made psu back to work but monitor display could not be
stabilized, so i packed it back again and kept . AFTER one year when i
came home back , i was in kota for medical preparation, i powered the
pc this time nothing started. so i dismantled my whole cpu ,
MOTHERBOARD APART,and cleaned it thoroughly but during reconnection ,i
had a problem in conncting my front panel which made the power button
bypass, i.e. on giving supply to psu, which i borrowed from my friend
as mine didnt worked even after thorough cleaning,although mine psu
didnt had any blown capacitors , the cpu came to life without pushing
the power button, i tried to sort it out but couldn't.so i have a
f**ked up pcwith monitor and psu and now motherboard gaga.......i am
getting mad as i had many memories in my HDD , which although are safe
as i connected my hdd in my friends pc,but i fear of a hdd crashup
leaving me nowhere in my memories,please help.........
