Actually my frnd wana know prices of sm processors

1) core2duo extreme


2) quad core extreme



and which one is bettr in performnce
(we are in Animation Industry)

hav an asus P5KPLM AM/PS mother board with G31 or D31(cant remember xactly) chipset which supports core2duo n quad only...


i m looking for an upgrade for processor which is now core2duo 1.8

budget not decided yet

If C2D, Get E8400.

If Quad, Get Q9550.

C2D not worth it
at that price C2Q Q8400 is nice.

GTA 4!!!!

It killed my C2D and in C2Q, its way better.

And we're giving him option, and if budget permits he can go for Q9550. Otherwise E8400 is more than enough.

But, getting a Quad Core is always better than a Dual-Core IMO.

Q8400 is nice, but Q9550 is the top notch one can get in Quad IMO. Just get it, OC it and play with it.

VFM -> Q8400
Budget not a constraint -> Q9550

Q9550 ~ RS.14000.

in Animation, a quad core will offer more performance. Q9550 maybe costly (& old), but current fastest AMD proccy have trouble matching it.

g31 express chipset motherboard
will their be any compatibility issues?
and i m only looking for a processor upgrade
