i am using windows xp home sp2 with all the updates installed. whenever i right click on any free space on the desktop, it takes sometime for the context menu to appear. I have also tried disabling non microsoft context menus, but no use :( I installed a LAN internet connection recently and since then, my shutdown is slow... very slow.... I tried microsoft support.. they told me to do a repair installation.. but i was not prepared to.. please help guys

humm if MS support guys has told u do a reinstall... the do so...

but there is some thing u can try... 1st of all defrag ur HDD..... it will take long time if u r in FAT32 system... but do it... its worth its time.... 2nd try 3rd party software... its called System Mechanic.... donwload the prof version... its around 35MB.... install it & then use there option to repair registry problem... enable its boot time defrag & other options....

if u have tryed other 3rd party softwares, including system mechanic.... then realy u need to reinstall... & also.. SP2 does slow down ur system a lot.... unless u have a super fast syetm...

& @pradip... i personal suggest u to try system mechanic 5.5a ... & defrag ur HDD again & again... it realy works...
