hi, I have some slight problem with windows xp ser pack2. My computer has two windows-98SE & XP. A few days back my son had installed virtual cd software in xp, immediately after installation when I inserted pen drive in usb port ,i noticed that my computer was not showing the removable disk option, however in the task bar it was showing as safely remove hardware, & when i click on safely remove hardware it was showing the hardware devices[odysey flash disk usb device-working properly]. I then removed the virtual CD software,MY COMPUTER again displaying the removable disk. But on next day when i started the computer ,option of removable dissk from MY COMPUTER is missing, task bar as usual showing safely remove hardware. What should i do?

Rebooting
Just put the USB drive back on to place (any USB prot)

now right click on My computer then Click Manage here go to disk manage ment... now there u should see ur USB drive (i guess as from ur post that XP can recongnize it but because Virtual CD has blocked previuos Driver letter used by ur USB stick) but without any Drive letter asign to it...

just Right click on the USB storage as shon in the bellow pict (its taken with a CD ROM but in ur case u do it with ur USB Stick) then click Change Drive letter and paths then add a driver letter...

Thanks Saurav for giving the solution, but my problem still remains unsolved. I have changed Drive letter and paths & added the new one but still MY COMPUTER is not showing the removable disk. However I can see the contents of removable disk thro' the disk management by rt clicking & opening the removable option .
