Problems with my MSI RS480 IL......strange eh?

Hello all,

I noticed this very irritating problem with the on-board graphics solution present on the RS 480 mobo...

I have the following configuration:
MSI RS 480 IL
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1 GB RAM hynix....(128 shared for the grafix)
160 GB HDD
Other goodies...

My problem started about a week back. After I run any application with lots of graphics (Games like Age of Empires 3 & 2, Delta OPS, FEAR....and also games like Project IGI....& simple applications like WMP 10 with the visualisation turned on).....the application runs very well...no distortion with the grafix, nor any choppiness....Even at full grafix settings...

But after I exit the game or WMP 10...My computer sort of starts behaving strange...Although it doesnt hang "completely", the task bar becomes completely dead. Also distortions in grafix also start showing...the right click menu does drop down showing all colours (pink, blue, black), but becomes obsolete....All I have to do in such a situation is that I have to reboot the PC.

Can anyone amongst u explain as to why this is happening? Is it because the gfx solution on-board is incapable of handling even these gaming grafix? Also, being a 1GB, AMD system, I shud not be encountering such problems....

Someone please help me overcome these problems...Can not afford rebooting my PC every hour...Has anyone else had similar problems like mine??

Hehe, I dont think re-installing the chipset drivers shud work...I already tried that out...

Can there be some problem with the DirectX installed on my PC???

if he can play Fear & other such games, that means he has the latest version of DirectX already installed

do u have windowsblind 5 installed?

I do have windowblinds 5 installed...Is that the culprit for the slowed down grafix performance of my PC??

btw what score ur getting on 3dmark 2005/03? i just want to compare it with my nforce 6100 chipset.

yeah u r absolutely rite i was using pirated version of WB5(frm warez site) and 2day in the morning when i opened my pc all my taskbar and backgroung turned black and pink and my system simply hanged , the problem continued even after restarting. :evil:

so now i have uninstalled WB5 and now using pirated windows blind v4.6 :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

Hey guys...There is absolutely nothing wrong with my mobo's grafix drivers...I checked on that before posting to this forum.

And BTW, WB 5 on my PC has behaved itself very well today, I mean it didnt go bad as it was supposed to after 18th Dec.....Only when I play games, my PC gets all screwed up & I have to re-boot...thats it....

I am still learning what 3dmark 2005/03 is........I shall get back with its result as soon as I am thru with it.....Nivice here u see....so plz hold on a couple of days more till I am thorough with it...

if wb5 ain't causing the problem, it could be that maybe the graphics drivers are crashing after you exit the game...hv u exited the game or wmp 10 and tried starting it again? maybe you could get updated drivers for the graphics.....onboard intel stuff, huh? mebbe u cld try tht out...

go here, u will find info regarding WB5 problem

if thats how your problem is, then uninstall Windowsblinds 5, there is another crack out there already, seems like pirates will never stop

Hey people...

My problem seems to have taken a peculiar turn now...

I played FEAR yesterday & today, & on both occassions after I quit the game, there was absolutely NO problem with the grafix properties...

Also, after using WMP 10 or after playing Age of Empires 2/3, the display properties still go berserk...

FEAR has always been known to be a resource hogger, but my mobo coped very well against it...Its just the lesser games & applications which still pose a problem..

All drivers r intact & hav been updated...

And the talk of WB 5 (pirated) going kaput after 18th Dec....Nothing of that sort has happened on my system....wierd eh??
