uninstall the drivers completely & use driver sweeper. then install the proper drivers again. Nvidia is having some problem of the latest drivers. so don't install beta drivers.

it seems its a driver problem for your graphics card.
try installing older driver like - 182.08 version of your graphics card.

1. Reset the BIOS of the board.
2. Go to the MSI website and flash the board to the latest BIOS.

Did you do a fresh install of the OS..?

yes ^ do a fresh os install format hdd... check bios options, also since the red dots are appearing is there something wrong with your display? if not open up your gpu clean it up apply artic paste on the core and put it back ... the red dot may be artifacts caused due to overheating gpu / overclocked gpu... make sure everything is set to default and try again .... also if possible install your gpu in someone else's computer and see if the same happes??? try tunning your pc on IGMP.....

dont flash the bios.... flashing the mobo bios is a risky business.... if something goes wrong your motherboard is gone .....

well according to msi website the mobo supports ddr3 in dual channel natively

No, a fresh install is not mandate. I asked that, to find out about the chipset driver installations. If:

1. New install -- chipset driver should be installed.
2. Old instal --- remove previous chipset drivers and install new ones.

Flashing the BIOS is not risky. In fact it is the first thing that should be done. For sure the BIOS on the board is legacy. It will be better optimized with the latest BIOS. If instructions are followed, hardly any risk.

i installed the os twice and also vista the same problem remains ...the monitor is fine as the red dots disappear while running applications. Last night when i was playing Battlefield bad company 2 there were no red dots at all...but it appears only sometime but always in playing xvid movies and also some time in the desktop. I'll try to run my gfx card in other machine and give it a try...i have never ever flashed BIOS before and so i am noob:(... i'll do so and update you guys..oh and yes my gpu is factory overclocked. And i run OC genie

The first thing in my opinion is to narrow down the problem. First put in everything that was in there and see if the problem is there. I know that what I asked is a bit tedious but its bound to work out. If the old components work flawlessly try putting initems one by one till you hit a problem. I'm also putting my money on a possible driver problem.

Check event viewer also to make sure there's nothing funny being listed in there.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

dude yea IF YOU FOLLOW the correct instructions is the questions and damn i forgot MSI motherboards have quite good bios so even if it crashed you can always boot up from the USB drive anyways.... a mobo bios flash is not always required unless there is some major update or stability patch and since he is using a MSI mobo so it should be rock solid...

also yea try to use ur gfx card in any other pc ... it could be a " artifact " problem... also does this issue happen with certain games / apps or all of them ? @official try turning of oc genie and aps... and run everything at default settings.

dude your best option is check your video card once.... monitor the temps at idle / load etc and clean it once and put it back ... also you can try underclocking your card and see a difference.

i reinstalled win7 ultimate 64 bit once again and now it seems to run little bit quick...but that red dot problem persists...it appears while gaming usually in dark areas it is easily viewable..i'll just put the gfx card in other machine. I usually run latest games at 1680x1050 my video card cant fully run all games at highest settings..:( is it having any type of conflict coz of that the PCIE connector supports ATICrossfire??? i dont think so..god knows. any way ill just re install all the components once again and see if i can give you a screen shot of the problem but the dots are really small and they keep twinkling. By the way what is artifact problem???

well it could be just make sure you test your gfx card in someother pc and tell us the result because this basically looks like something is wrong with the wiring from the gpu to the monitor or the gpu itself

1. No PCIE connector supporting Xfire, will not cause this problem.
2. Those red twinkling dots are artifacts.

Try your GPU in another machine. It could be over heating too -- check the temperatures.. Also uninstall all OC software on your system, that would have slip streamed when the chipset drivers were installed.
