problem with motherboard

i have an intel 945 gcpe motherboard with core2 duo processor and 1gb ram the problem is lying with the hard disk and dvd writer(sony) that whenever i plar some dvd or cd it access my hard disk continously and the red led for the hdd glows with the led of the writer even it blinks along with the led of the writer as if both are same i dont know what is problem lying apart from this the whole system works fine
plz help???

if its while watching movies or continuos playback then try reinstalling codec pack...
use hijack this to see which folders(other then system) are being use d
