sure u have been infected by adware.
spydoc and spysweeper are paid/shareware.
i suggest any two of : adaware, windows defender/ms antispy or ewido antispyware. best if u can scan in safe mode with 'em.

then use ccleaner fromm www.ccleaner.com to clear ur cache and other pc junk.

that's surely adware. scan with Adaware and Spybot. i feel that is the best combination.

Yes i did try lavasoft's ad-aware and spybot-search&destroy and that too after updating them.They showed some adware which i did delete also, but the problem persisits.....i have to still try with spydoctor and others

Suhas, you don't have to try all spyware softwares 1 by 1. 1 is enuff.
try this
Right click IE - go to properties - check your homepage settings.
Go to Privacy - set on MEDIUM
Now Open IE - go to TOOL> Manage Add-On > check what are the add-on currently installed with ur IE. Look for some dll files which u might have seen when u scan with spybot, If u don't need any add-on which u see - disable em and try useing IE and see what happens.

sushas the problem u r facing is nothing but popup windows with ads which may be generated by the website u r visiting. so try to install some popup blocker. i think IE 6 comes with a popup blockers.

I tried pop upblockers; I tried disabling all the addons in 'manage addons' option...but the problem persists.I scanned it various adware/spyware removal tools...I WAS UNSUCCESSFUL!
Are there any more suggetions???????

this is alwasy mainly due to some extra components which you would have installed along with any s/w like toolbars,ads promotion stuff...Just try uninstalling the recent unwanted s/w u have installed

THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU...FOR ALL THE SUGGESTIONS, THOUGH THEY MAY HAVE NOT WORKED, THEY HELPED ME IN KNOWING THE VARIOUS WAYS IN WHICH i can keep my comp clean.
Anyways......i found the location where this spyware existed(somewhere in documents and settings) and i went to safe mode and deleted it...after that the problem was solved.
