Problem related to Lightroom

Recently I installed Lightroom in my machine. The problem is whenever I switched on my external Hard drive, this programme automatically opens and prompts me to index the pictures that are in the drive. I dont want to let it open automatically. How to resolve the problem?

try this :

go to Edit, Preferences, Import Tab > find a option called "Show import dialog when memory card detected ' uncheck the option and this should be fixed
