Rebooting
On my AMD Athlon 2600 in A7V8XMX-SE mobo every thing was fine until yesterday while trying to write the knopix linux iso image on a cd, nero asked me to enable the secondary master DMA (LG CDRW 52x32)..... as i am on windows XP SP2 the DMA was enabled by defoult....... i didnt turned it off!!! though i went to Device Manager > IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers > Current Transfer Mode > DMA if Available & then i restarted the system..... but after reboot i found that the DMA is still desabled..... as i have dual boot with win 98 SE so i rebooted to win98 & found that DMA was enabled.... so what is preventing winXP to use the DMA......

In the zone
Open Device manager , expand Eide/ATAPI , click on the BUS master (3rd option) right click , uninstall , restart ,

Should be resolved , if not , then try updating the nFORCE drivers ,

Hope this helps ,
