I have just assembled a new machine and wanted to install Windows 8 Pro on it. The machine has following Config:
Proc: AMD FX-4300
MoBo: Gigabyte 970A-DS3 (Rev. 3)
RAM: Corsair 4GB X 2
HDD: WD 500GB
While the installation went fine, the system became non-responsive when I started installing MoBo drivers and software. At this moment the HDD would work continously (HDD LED glows non-stop) and nothing else would happen on the screen. I have tried to re-install the OS but each time the system would hang in the similar fashion (sometime while updating the OS). Frustrated I removed Windows 8 completely and installed Windows 7. This time everything went smoothly and system was up and running. But since I want to use Windows 8.1 Pro I want to know why I am getting problems there. Should I skip installing anything from the MoBo DVD while installing?
Also is there any way I can download Windows 8.1 Pro .iso version using legit key?
