Problem installing SQL Server 2000

Right off the assembly line
Hello!

I am trying to install MS SQL Server 2000 on my PC which is running WinXP SP2. At the ending of the setup I get an error stating that 'Could not start server. Refer to sqlsetup.log for more details'

Here is an excerpt from the log where the error occurs:

1. in which mode u r trying to install specify that ??
2. Are u selecting by default windows authentication ?

try following .

1. uninstall ur sql

2. delete ms sql server2000 direcoty from ur installation path

3. reinstall it by mix mode with sql authentication

that's it.

Hi vinaypatel!
I tried installing MS SQL Server2000 with 'mixed mode with sql authentication' but still no result .The same problem keeps recurring again and again. I am working on my college project & I am behind schedule. Please help me out.......
