Problem in Safely Removing Ext HDD

i hav a segate free agent 500 GB connected via USB
everytime i try 2 remove it using "Safely Remove Hardware" it gives me a erron that a application is still accessing it.
i checked no chance of a virus... as there is no prob in removin my pen drive.
i even closed de unnecessary apps usin task manager... STILL it gives me de error

what can be de prob... is de prob with de ext HDD, i even tried on diff comps

Is any program installed in you HDD. If yes, this may be causing problem.
Sometimes it happen with me that if the program that accessed a file from my flash drive, it can't be removed until I close that program
