Here's a really weird problem. I though of installing Windows XP Pro after instalation of Sabayon 3.25. I've Sabayon installed for more than a month.

Now, whenever I try to boot from Windows XP , I just see that "Setup is inspecting you hardware configuration" (Or some message like this) And then there's just a black screen.

My XP boot disc used to work fine before the Sabayon installation and I've installed it on my mys system may times prior to this.

Why does it not boot into the disc ? Is there anything I can do to cure this ?

I searched in google too. It seemed that Windows Setup get stuck while diagnosing the partitions/MBR....

I want Windows XP for certain reasons. How do I install it ? Please Help.

moving it in software troubleshooting, since it seems to be the problem with windows. Nothing to do with linux or open source.

Yeah.. Win XP can be installed after a Linux distro. Although you need to manually Edit the menu.lst file in /boot/GRUB/

Thanks guys for the prompt approach and solutions. I had to backup my data from Sabayon and then perform a LLF so as to make the system boot from the Win XP installation disc.

Thanks 8| :)
