I have a HP PSC 1410 All-in-One.
It's almost 3 years old.

Yesterday, a strange problem occurred with my printer & is still there.

Whenever, I switch on the printer, all the lights on it get turned on & remain steady. None of the lights flash/blink even once.

It reports no activity.

When I switch on the printer while connected to my PC, Windows shows an error that the hardware is unrecognized.

I contacted the HP Support regarding the problem, but even they were unable to help.
I have personal experience regarding their inadequate support & helpfulness.
(See my post: *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showpost.php?p=358451&postcount=14)

So, please someone help. Even suggestions would help.

Hey you try with connecting the USB to the other USB which is working fine and try it and check the cables too.

Ok, an update.
Today, all the lights started blinking/flashing.
I tried using my friends' printer's power cable (he too has an HP PSC 1410) & tried in my printer but with same results.

there might be a problem with the printer cable which connect to the PC...clean the connectors and see

or...with it connected uninstall the printer in windows...reboot...and then re-install the drivers from cd if needed...

Ok, the problem seemed to be with the printer itself.
I got it checked & it turned out that it's logic card had been damaged by the ink that had leaked from the cartridge.
