Some background if you don't know about the game

Plague Inc is a disease simulation game, where you get to repeatedly eradicate humanity as a virus, bacteria, parasite and other disease causing agents. It's incredibly fun and educational as well. Most of the game can be unlocked by just winning in brutal mode, but the latest scenarios update is paid. There are 14 new scenarios, and each adds at least as much gameplay as the original game!

Plague Inc. is one of the best dollars you can spend for a video game, and if it "infects" you the way it has me (sorry I couldn't help myself) then you'll have an enormous amount of both paid and free added content to occupy yourself with.

The developer is really active in the community, and has designed a game that avoids all the pitfalls of paid titles, vanity IAP or energy mechanic which could easily be in the game. This right here is an frank explanation for charging for the scenarios expansion. It's the best.

Scenarios are a new, optional expansion pack to the original Plague Inc. Game. (Which released back in May 2012!) A one off purchase unlocks all current and future scenarios.

The Scenarios expansion pack costs money because it adds loads of new content to the original game and it took me months of hard work to make. It will give you hours of extra gameplay and I believe it offers fair value for money.
I hope you understand why I made this decision and that you feel fairly treated.

I. General strategies

(works on all disease types)

-The single best trick is to keep the severity and lethality low, infect everyone on the planet and kill them off suddenly
-To kill of people rapidly after infecting everyone, go for Total Organ Failure and Coma symptoms
-If Airplanes or Ships are upgraded with new disease filters, upgrade Air 1 or Water 1 transmissions
-if there is the festival of love in any country upgrade Nausea symptom to spread the disease faster by kissing
-If bird migration event is expected, upgrade Bird 1
-Upgrading Air and Water transmission to Extreme Bioaerosol is the cheapest and fastest way of infecting everyone on the planet
-Have defeated all types by always starting in India (not tried in scenarios). Starting in India should be safe, it's both hot, poor and populous. It also has airport and sea port.
-If greenland or iceland is not getting infected, upgrade water 1 or blood 1 (packets of contaminated blood can infect Greenland
-there are two ways to combat cure, either go for genetic reshuffle, genetic hardening and drug resistance, or go for the symptoms in the bottom left corner. Insomnia, Paranoia, Paralysis, Coma, Siezures and Insanity all contribute to either making the infected too dysfunctional to make the cure, or directly make the disease more difficult to cure. This corner is great at bringing down the cure percentage in an emergency (100% cure is complete)
-devolve and mutations of symptoms at the start of the game to prevent your disease from being noticed too quickly, and the cure getting completed before you can kill everyone

II. Strategies for disease types

Bacteria
-Standard version of the game. Cold and Heat resistance might have to be used despite Bacterial Resilience, to infect hot or cold countries depending on where you start. So don't invest points in bacteria specific abilities.
-Get Air and Water transmission all the way to Bioaerosol. If you started in India or China, upgrade Livestock or Bird transmission to target vast rural expanses such as Canada and Russia, Drug resistance ability for spreading in Rich countries (US, NZ)
-After about 1/2 the world is infected, start evolving lethal symptoms.
-Keep some points in store for killing everyone with fatal symptoms after infecting everyone.

Virus
-The Virus variant evolves very fast, and unless you have the evolution gene modifier translesion + to prevent increase in costs to devolve, it is going to be expensive to keep your virus hidden and under control.
-Your plague is gonna get discovered. The strategy here is to keep the symptoms but not make them too harsh, so the world does not fight back and allocate more funds of research.
-Air and water maxed to bio-aerosol, combined with cold and heat resistance maxed to environmental hardening should get you past 5 Billion infected people.
-Drug resistance, genetic Hardening and Genetic Reshuffle are all necessary as the cure will be starting early

Fungus
-This is going to be a long game, takes the most patience among all disease types. The strategy is still infect everyone and kill rapidly.
-Air and Water to max, heat and cold resistance to max, drug resistance should get you going.
-Don't be tempted to use the spores for spreading. not very effective unless in an emergency. just sit back and watch it spread slowly, and build up the points, because towards end game you have to evolve all the symptoms from mild to lethal to fatal.

Parasite
-The strategy for parasite is to make use of mild symptoms for spreading, and upgrading the symbiosis abilities to prevent the detection of the parasite despite the nausea and coughing.
-Invest in symptoms that increase infectivity instead of say Anaemia that only increases severity.
-towards endgame, keep some points to use genetic reshuffle and genetic hardening, to prevent the cure from reaching 100%

Prion
-Use Transmissions and Abilities to spread. Air + Water transmission along with Cold and Heat resistance should do well. Dont max them out, use bird for rural areas, insect for spreading faster if starting country is india, and blood for islands if necessary.
-once the cure starts, you can use the unique ability of the prion to slow cure. Neural Atrophy makes complex tasks and concentration increasingly harder with each upgrade.

Nano-Virus
-Don't Panic
-This is a fast game, total opposite of fungus. You have to be on your toes all the time. Forget about staying hidden, use the cheap high infectivity symptoms to spread the disease rapidly.
-Attack the cure early on with both the standard abilities. at around 60% cure (this is gonna happen repeatedly) use code interception and radical elements to slow down. Build the insomnia to coma/insanity path of symptoms to slow down cure, but works better after at least half the world has been infected.

Bio-Weapon
-Another fast game. Upgrade Air and water transmission, along with heat and cold resistance to max. Use symptoms instead of transmissions to spread.
-Upgrade lower left corner, insomnia, paranoia etc to reduce research speed. People are going to die off too soon, necrosis helps spread disease even after the bodies are dead, but kills off people too, so use about mid-way into game.
-Use the special abilities gene compression and nucleic acid neutralization to prevent too many people from dying. This is to keep some hosts of the disease alive to spread it around. once everyone is infected, Armageddon gene can be used to kill off humanity instead of evolving costly symptoms to achieve the same.

III. Strategies for Scenarios

need serious help here, played only a bit, will add in with posts. Assuming all regular gene modifiers are unlocked for this bit

H1N1 Flu (not a great one, will win tho, will modify strategy if a better one shows up)
-In DNA genes, add Catalytic Switch modifier, you need the extra points from cure, and this one wont stay invisible for long. Travel genes modifier, used Aquacyte to target Greenland, Iceland and New Zealand. Evolution genese, Translesion because everything else is easier to cure. Mutation genes - Genetic mimic modifier, to make the Flu harder to cure. Environmental Genes - Rurophile modifier for Canada, Aus and Russia.
-Gameplay is a bit like virus, you already start with a bunch of symptoms that are costly to devolve (3 points each)
-While there are many lethal symptoms (you even start with one), these are not so lethal as to kill off everyone quickly before the cure. So it's going to take a while to kill everyone after infection.
-Devolve fever at start, you don't want the cure to start too early and it's the only lethal symptom that you have from the start.
-Max out Air 1, Water 1, Air 2, Water 2 all the way to Extreme Bioaerosol. Max out Cold and Heat resistance all the way to Environmental Hardening.
-You will need to max out the Drug Resistance, Genetic Hardening, Genetic Reshuffle to keep the cure in the low 80% over the course of the game
-Fatigue and Paranoia also help in slowing down the cure, or making the cure harder
-After infecting everyone, the most lethal symptom is Dysentry, but you have to evolve through Pulmonary Oedema and Diarhoea to get there
-Systemic infection, Myocarditis, Coma and Fever (yep evolve that again) are essential to kill. Even after all the lethal symptoms are activated, the lethality bar is not even one third full.



Global Warming
-Use Aquacyte gene modifier because Greenland and Iceland are going to be problem areas
-Rurophile modifier is important because the normal strategy will leave the northen belt uninfected. Canada, Russia and Aus will be slow to infect.
-Cold resistance is required even more so for targeting these vast areas (Canada, Russia, Scandinavian countries and Greenland)
-Insect I and II spreads fast because of warmer climate. Blood 1 and 2 helps with spreading in poor areas. use in early part of game. upgrade all the way to Extreme Hematophagy. This increases chance of mutation so you can use it to save on symptom costs by devolving too severe symptoms.
