Photo/thumbnail viewer in ubuntu

Can anyone here suggest a very good photo/thumbnail viewer on Ubuntu just like Acdsee or Ifran view on windows.

^^Please elaborate. You can view thumbnails while browsing folders as well.

A dedicated software for handling image files, as I said like Acdsee or Irfanview. Not just viewing thumbnails, but with explorer like interface, and other functions too.

I cam across some names like gthumb, digikam, F-spot etc, I am looking for the best among them.
