Right off the assembly line
Please be careful in buying a s4 ,
i bought an s4 and noticed within a day that it displayed white as yellowish white
this bothered me a lot and went to 2-3 service centres to get a DOA certificate
but nothing happened they were like it is normal , the dealer also raised his hands
they compared my s4 with another s4 with reddish whites and blueish whites
the blueish whites looked perfect but they were not ready to accept this as fault and m stuck with yellowish whites in my s4
i had so much expectations with s4 display all shattered

Whoa.. you are really ignorant
S4 has a super AmoLED DIsplay and your laptop has a super crapoLED display.
How can you even compare it with a notebook display when your notebook cant even display all the colours that the S4 can.
Ask anyone who owns an IPS display [TDF Dell S2240L bandwagon]and they will tell you how bad notebook displays are.
What you see on your S4 is white displayed on at 6500K which is sometimes referred to yellowish white or in plain words, Warm Daylight.
On cheap displays, like that of your notebook, you get a screen that runs at 9300k.
You can see this option on a good CRT or LCD monitor.

How do I know this? I use an IPS display everyday at home and work.

Are you claiming 6500K white is better than 9300k white? I didnt get the point.

THat's why dude i put in a second pic with my old s2 , s2 whites look a lot better
whatever may be the technology whites are supposed to be whites but this is not the case in s4,though i agree blacks are awesome
i really feel irritated with yellowish white
I hope i get used to with it as time passes by
else would have to sell it with a great loss

also if i was ignorant i wouldn't have noticed it and would have been a lot happy
"Ignorance is a bliss "
not in my case cause i started comparing whites

Hii friends.. Sorry for the late reply. I was just too busy to go to the market and take a look at the phones.

Well, as for the phones, I think we all will agree on the fact that each of the phone (Nexus 4, Xperia ZR, Samsung S4 and many more) are good in one way or the other.

However, since I need to take only 1 phone, this is what I have decided.
NO to Galaxy S4 : I intend to save the extra money to buy a dedicated camera.
NO to Nexus 4 : Fragile Body and Average Battery Life. (I'll miss all the updates though).

YES to Xperia ZR !
Reasons : I love the look and feel of the phone. Add to that removable battery and SD Card slot. And yeah, the IP certification as well. I'll also keep my fingers crossed for KitKat. Moreover, the camera and battery performance also satisfies me. All in all, just what I wanted. And the best part, I'll be getting it for 22.5k. (The catch being that I'll receive it on Oct 29th).. I can surely wait 1 more month to get it at that price.

One last thing guys, Thanks a LOT for all your valuable inputs. It certainly helped me a lot. Keep Rocking !!!

Yes,6500k is standard its is the truest white. It will take sometime to adjust your eye to this white but it will display most natural colour your eyes are acquainted with those fake bluish white so don't worry.

Hello OP.

I was just surfing XDA & checked Xperia ZR forum, it's under low activity/legacy devices.
Very less development going on. So If u r a rom flashing addict u should stay away from it. [IMHO]

Update:
I went to order Xperia ZR but then got tempted towards ZL.
I've always tried to avoid 5' screen size phones, but I found it hard to believe that ZL is almost the same size as ZR in spite of a 5' screen. So I've ordered ZL. Will be posting the pics very soon.

PS. Can anyone suggest me a good place (online) to buy a case for my ZL ?
