I found the solution. My LG TV manufacturer has an Android app - "LG ThinQ" that permits using an Android phone for private listening.
Now got to see if it permits parenting more than 1 phone.

You can pair many phones but can only stream to a single device on the LG TV.
However only LG and webOS TV's have this feature and I consider it to be very good for someone who has a decent pair of earphones.

Unfortunately LG has stopped giving headphone sockets on their TV's so this option comes handy.
