hi,

i am having the following problem with the nvidia drivers, on my fc3 system:
when i try to run some game as normal user, it shows me the following error:

Error: Could not open /dev/nvidiactl because the permissions
are too resticitive. Please see the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
section of /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/README for steps
to correct.

the nvidia faq basically tells me to change the perms of /dev/nvidiactl file to rw-rw-rw from rw-rw----. it also tells me to comment out some lines from the /etc/security/console.perms (the ones with dri in them).

the problem is even after doing this, after a reboot, the perms of of that file are reset to rw-rw----, due to which i get back the same error message. what is this problem, and how to avoid it?

also i cant write to my fat32 drives. can someone who can do this just give the relevant line from their fstab file?

Thanks a lot,

Hi,
a small thing i discovered.... the permissions are being reset on starting X and not on boot. when i boot into runlevel3, and check the perms, they are ok. but inthe x terminal, they show up as crw-rw----.
