Now friends I am getting a bit frustrated here . I got a SATA HDD 10 days ago.Even got a PCI sata card from VIA company. I installed the PCI card, booted my XP. It asked for drivers and I installed the drivers using the software CD. Now when I went to disk mangement, I found my HDD with 233 GB. Windows asked me to initialize the drive. I clicked next and after sometime it said failed to initalize with some error. I removed the card and installed it again in the slot. I was able to see the drive in disk management and was successful this time to intialize the drive. Now I right-clicked on the drive and clicked on New Partition, and without making any changes I selected the whole size of the disk and then create partition. But after a minute or so the computer hanged. When I restart the system the computer freezes on Windows Xp boot screen. When I disconnect the sata HDD the computer boots normally. Now really I am in a fix as to what to do.The device manager shows the SCSI controller fine. Have a look
