PCI-E graphics card 6600 GT

Well! ya its about the XFX 6600GT 128MB graphics card. I visited their website but could not locate the information i was looking for.

I have the following questions.

1. The card has video out and video in ports which means i can use this card to watch tv on it right, can I also capture LIVE TV programms using this card ?

2. This card comes without any REMOTE, can I configure my Wireless keyboard to change the Channels ?

3. I saw the PCI-E 1x slot (there are 2 slots of this sort) what is this slot for, i mean what am i suppose to connect to this slot if i ever want to, which device goes into this card. I know no video card will go in this and also intel say its meant for non-video out device, but i want to know what exactly can we connect to this slot on the mobo. ? Name the device ?

ull have to adjust some settings and give sound int he line in of ur sound card to heard it right
2) no u cant change channels. . its not a TV TUNER CARD
3) pice x1 is the new standard for the normal pci slot
some cards are pcie x1 compatible nowadays
this isnt the same is the pcie 16x slot that u have for ur graphic card
devices like lan cards etc are being made for pcie x1 slot ..

1) Can I install XFX 6600GT and a TV Tuner Card together, which means can I have both this cards on the mobo together and use them together ?

2)Well in context of your answer no. 3 above, does the speed of this new cards which are compatible with pci-e x1 slot increase or remains the same. For example if i connect a conventional PCI LAN Card to the PCI slot of the mobo which say gives a 100 MBps speed. Where as if I connect the same card of the PCI-E variant to the PCI-E 1x slot of the mobo, what speed would I get with reference to the 100 MBps speed which I am already getting on the conventional PCI variant ?

Yes.

If you're using Gigabit ethernet (1000 Mbps), you might see an increase in the speed. But regular 10/100 Mbps ethernet won't be any different on PCI-E as compared to PCI.
