    Hello,

    1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: I am looking to build a PC for designing. Applications used would be Adobe Creative Cloud, i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects. Major use would be image touchups and video editing.

    2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Max. 80,000 can extend up to 90,000

    3. Planning to overclock?
    Ans: Not really.

    4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
    Ans: Windows 10

    5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Planning to keep SSD as primary hard disk to increase speed. Data can be stored on 1 TB HDD

    6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Planning to buy Benq BL2420-T since it is recommended for image touchups. 100% sRGB

    7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: DVD Writer, Speakers, Keyboard and Mouse is not needed.

    8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within this month (Jan 2019)

    9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Have always used a Mac, this is my first Windows PC, so will take an assembler.

    10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Mumbai, open to buying online as well as locally.

    11. Anything else which you would like to say?
    • Is Intel or AMD processor recommended for graphics work?
    • Should I invest in more CPU power or GPU power for designing?
    Thanks
    Pratik

As per some recent similar threads it seems intel setup is favoured for adobe products. Also it depends on the application & usage(which effect etc) as to whether the processor or gpu will be more beneficial.

    Btw do read review here:

Also in this budget go for this NVMe ssd instead of sata/m2 ssd as it will help in your usage scenario.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
You think i5 would be enough or should I go for i7?

Regarding the monitor I have already used this model and liking it.

NVMe SSD are cheaper compared to SATA or M2 SSD? I don't mind going for NVMe.

    Thanks again

If going for intel then considering your budget go for i7 non-overclockable version.Still wait for others to comment as amd ryzen is definitely more value for money but because you specifically mentioned adobe usage I suggested intel.

They are not cheaper but they are faster & for your usage scenario it should be noticeable improvement over ssd.

1060 3gb is enough for 1080p editing but I think 4k editing needs 1060 6gb,check about this first if planning on 4k editing in future.

M2 can be either sata or NVMe(always expressed as pcie x2 or pcie x4),that link is for M2 NVMe.

Yes I plan to edit 4k videos. So you think 1060 with 6GB would be good for graphic and video editing work.

I don't have experience with photo/video editing but I do use madvr renderer for upscaling of videos during playback & upscaling to 4k many times requires more than 3gb VRAM as per comments. I am assuming photo/video editing too should not be that different from a video renderer upscaling videos on the fly hence the suggestion for 1060 6gb(as there are only 2 options: 3gb or 6gb).

Buying an assembled PC would be good or going for Branded is recommended?
I see there is not much different is both, with Branded PC I am getting 3 years onsite warranty.

    HP Pavilion Gaming 790-0026in

This I am getting for 1,10,000.

    Please suggest

Don't mind me saying it but this is waste of money.Branded PC is only recommended for commercial buying in an organization(profit or non-profit) or when you are looking for some fancy All-in-One system. Leaving aside all other things just the mere fact that above pc comes with a "400W psu" is enough for me to discard it as an option.
