Particular Excel file gets hang while editing

I am using Office 2007.
Every other files are working fine.
Facing trouble with 1 particular file. While editing it's getting non-responsive for few minutes then responses.
The file was with several worksheets, I have deleted all except the one I needed.
What could be the cause?

Couldbe a macro issue. What's the total size of the excel before and with the single sheet?

You might try to copy the content of the file to a new Workbook. Don't copy complete data, copy only the data which is relevant.

So for eg, if your data is only in A to J field and for 100 rows, then only copy A1:J100.

Sometimes there are dummy data in all over excel, or due to formatting excel behaves that there is data in all of the cells. So it becomes heavy, not in terms of size, but in terms of processing. Copy required data in new workbook should solve this issue.

If you are only talking about data then save the file in .csv format and then open with excel. It should work fine as csv will remove all formatting and will only take the data from original excel file.
