PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA system crashes

I installed a new RAM 256 DDR, HDD 160 GB

installed Windows XP as well. It worked normally.
I installed several softwares
then started the problem.

During windows xp startup an error message comes:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

First time it came as "STOP: 0x00000044(0xd1f0z008,0x00000d62, ... ...)"
Next time it was "STOP: (0x00000050(0XF1FFF620,0X00000001,0X8056C0B5,0X00000000)"
Then,
STOP0xea00a3fc,0x0,0x80582946,0x02)
then,
Stop: 0x8e(0xc05, 0xbf918863,0xf87a0cb8,0x0)
every time a new error message!! and says
Beginning dump of physical memory

everytime the error message is new:

I repaired the xp and Windows started normally. I switched off the system and turned on and it worked. But after some time when I turned on I had to experience the problem.

How to solve this.

Windows don't start. It restarts automatically after the above message.
I have Win 98 SP 2 as 2nd OS and it works normally.
Please help!!

the first error 44 is usually to do with a driver problem
50 is a memory fault
maybe ur ram sticks are loose or arent working fine
8e is hardware compatibility issue

my bet is on ram stick
get memtest and run it on ur ram
first check if they are working right
remove each stick and check if u still get the bsod
mostly it could be the new one
so take it out and see if u get the bsod

defenitely sounds like a RAM issue. I would suggest running the tests raven suggested and if found faulty get them replaced.

Thank You for kind responses.
I think I have to clarify a couple of things.
My Second OS ie, Windows 98 works normally and shows the RAM is 504MB.
Even in the XP, when it functioned normally it showed 504 MB RAM.
As I am not a comp. expert, I have very little knowledge about these stuffs. So pls clarify me whether should I check the RAM even if it shows 504 MB in the system information.
The bsod occured after I installed XP successfully and worked with it for 2 days.
I installed Media player 10, Real player 10 Gold, Quick time player, Win amp, Jet audio, Nero Burning Rom, ACDsee 7.0, etc, .
The problem started after that only.
Could this be due to numerous players installed on the same OS?
I had AVG antivirus prog. also.
Even now My 98 is working well.
If i have to run the RAM test, which software should I use? where can I get it.

it cannot be due to too many software ...
it doesnt work like that
theres no harm in checkin the ram

but before all this try doing a system restore to a safer point
also check if ur system boots in winxp safe mode without bsod

Even i had the same problem few days ago...so i shifted my ram stick to another slot....and now it is working fine......Even u can try that

Yes I ran the Windows memory diagnostic *oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp#appendix. It found the following things.
1. Errors by memory module
The Message says " Windows Memory Diagnostic found 1089179 errors. The error distribution by memory module is:
Bank ' Bank 0/1' Slot "A01" :241
Bank 'Bank 2/3' Slot "A1" : 1088938

2. Errors by Test:
Error distribution by test:

Basic:
MATS+ (Cache enabled) 41063
INVC 81725

Standard:
LRAND 78028
STRIDE6 (Cache enabled) 19824
WMATS+ 309615
WINVC 558924

As to shift the RAM to another slot, I have only 2 slots in my mother board.
I will try removing the new RAM and run the test again.

I Have faced this problem.........

This happened when I combined new memory stick with the old one.............

If you use both RAMs of same make then this problem should go permanently............. Changing slots may also help to some extent...........

Dear Friends,
I solved the problem finally, to be precise you solved it. Your suggestions helped me a lot.
First I was directed towards the right channel that the culprit could be the new RAM stick. I ran the memory test and found errors. Then I removed the newer one and ran the test again. The old one was OK. I replaced the old one with the new RAM and checked it. It was also working fine.
Now I interchanged the slots with both the RAM sticks installed and ran the test. The Test found no errors.
Now the windows start normally. But since I tried to repair the XP and while repairing couldn't copy several files in My XP became unstable. Now I am going to reinstall afresh.
Hope the problem won't occur again.
