P4 3ghz LGA775 processor gone bad, want replacement, new or used.

Recently my P4 3Ghz processor in Intel 915GAV motherboard has gone bad.
I would like to have your opinion on:-
1) Is there any replacement new Intel processor presently in the market that
can fit in LGA775 socket of 915GAV?
2) Whether you know some shop in Mumbai or Pune market that sells used
Intel P4 processors? What could be the cost?

Based on your input, i will decide whether processor replacement is viable option
or assemble some new cheap VFM PC (but that is subject for new thread, right?)

E5700 costs about rs.3500, i think.
even if sits in 915GAV, i am saddled with 2GB DDR ram.

I think i will go for old stock P4. anybody knows who still sells them
in Mumbai or Pune and approx. cost?

You will get 2.8 Ghz P4 processor used easily in the Market. Its available here @600-700 here.

In Kolkata its available even its available in my town too. If u are in Kolkata in Chandni its easy to get. If you know someone in Kokata he can send you or if u trust me I can send u too.
