(XP pro-SP-1, 512MB ram, 120 GB HDD. Tried installing Suse Linux but failed.)
One Folder in my D drive contain some files and one update folder which I cannot open, delete, rename or moved. Now, my problem is I happen to drag my important folder containing movies and pictures within this Folder and I cannot retrieve it back or open it. Using system restore I restore it back but none of the multimedia files could be opened or moved. What could be the problem? Is there any way that I can open the multimedia files again? Please help.

The permissions for that folder must be 'corrupted'.
Login in Safe Mode or under My Computer, goto Tools>View, scroll down at the end and uncheck the 'Use simple file sharing' option.

Then right click ur folder, goto Properties> Security tab. Change the permissions from here.
If you don't know how to change permissions, go through this support article.
These articles will help too.
