Hey guys ... got 2 new bits of information. Not sure when the release date is for the nVidia 8800 GTS G92 version ones.

There are 2 dates from what I got : December 3rd or December 11th.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
The December 3rd Release Quote says this:

Several of NVIDIA's partners have already launched the new version of GeForce 8800 GTS with the additional 16 shader processors of the G80 core activated. With 112 shader processors, the same as GeForce 8800 GT, NVIDIA's GTS 640 MB model sports enough shading power and overall better performance to close the gap to 8800 GT. The updated G80 core of 8800 GTS 640MB is more or less a temporary solution as a G92-based version will become available very soon. Over at Expreview they've posted both date and price of NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS based on G92.
The card will boost 512MB or 1GB memory and use the same 256-bit memory bus as 8800 GT. The launch date is December 3rd, not even a month from now, and will cost 300 USD (512 MB).

The December 11th Release quote says this:

Nvidia will release its next 'G92'-based graphics chip, the GeForce 8800 GTS 512, on 11 December, it has been claimed. As its name suggests, the new part extends the existing 8800 GTS line up with a model that connects to 512MB of memory.
Today's 8800 GTS family comprises 320MB and 640MB models - the latter is said to be scheduled to be replaced by the 512. Both older GPUs contain 96 of Nvidia's Stream unified-shader pixel processors, but the new version will have 128 on board, according to a report on Chinese-language site HKEPC.
The story claims the new part has a core clock speed of 650MHz, the highest of any current GeForce 8-series GPU, including the 8800 Ultra. However, it connects to memory across a 256-bit, which is narrower than today's GTS' 320-bit bus but one that matches the recently released 8800 GT - reviewed here.

The GTS 512's GDDR 3 memory is said to be clocked to 1.96GHz.
The report's sources say the GeForce 8800 GTS 512 will appear on boards in the $299-349 price band - almost twice the price of AMD's recently released ATI Radeon HD 3800 series boards.

BTW, here is the Table of the G92 8800 compared with others:

From the table, it sure is going to be better than the the current GTX/Ultra.
Also arriving in 512MB/1GB versions.

Wonder when it will arrive in India though. FYI, i am planning to buy a high end system in Jan 2008. Hopefully this arrives by then. :D

wow....i think its not worth to go for GT now. When new GTS will be out, the GT will be 10k-
Why dun they change the GPU code name [G92].
