I don't know if this is the right place, but isn't anyone getting any notifications thru mail for any posts (threads) or is it just me?

I cant understand your question properly, but if you say that you're recieving notifications by email from here, then you must have subscribed in that thread.
Subscribing means either posting in that thread or choosing to subscribe without posting.
You will only receive notifications if you have set the option in your User CP.
If you dont want any notifications, simply go to
User CP->Edit Options->In messaging & notification section, choose No email notification..
