Hello guys!!

I have a problem i have recently updated k-lite codec pack from "4.1.7" to "4.2.5". Before the update I used to get 6 channel sound on all video files that had 2 channel sound in Media Player Classic. Now I do not get 6 channel on these video files after updating. I get 6 channel sound in those video files which has 6 channel sound. Also when running the same files in VLC player I get sounds in all 5 speakers. But I do not like VLC player because it does not automatically deinterlace the video.

So please help to me to configure MPC so that I can get 6 channel sound..

Thanks,

Go to View Menu > Options. Here, click on "Audio Switcher" under "Internal Filters" branch. Select the option "Enable custom channel mapping" and then choose the appropriate speaker configuration. Click "Apply" and "OK". See if you can get audio output from all your speakers.

Also make sure that proper speaker configuration is selected in Windows Control Panel. To check this, go to Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices applet. Here, click "Audio" tab and click "Advanced" button in "Sound Playback" section and then choose proper speaker layout.

Hmmm... Are you using latest version of MPC? IMHO, VLC is better than any other player out there ;)

I dont like VLC because you cannot seek flv videos in it. And also it dosen't deinterlace the video automatically.

I know this is an old thread, but I signed-up just to say THANK YOU both! You saved me a lot of grief, now I can enjoy my MKVs at full 4.1 and keep MPC ^^

Oh and Swatkat, sorry but though VLC is a decent program but MPC is much more flexible ;)

Anyways, thanks again guys :)
