newer AMD motherboards are not backward compatible ?

In the zone
I have a processor AMD 3000+ 64 bit ( venice core ) . Now I want to change its mobo to a new one . Are newer boards for AM2,AMD X2 newer processors............ like that cannot fit into it ?


I mean the motherboards for AMD X2 can run with a simple AMD athlon 64 bit processor or not ?

k then suggest me a config ( new config ) better if intel based processor ( this time not AMD , want to go back to intel after 4 yrs ) where processor around 5k , mobo around 4-5 k

with 5 Procy, budget, u should stick with AMD u will get far better deal with AMD...

AMD X2 (AM2) 4200 @ Rs. 4800 + TAX
ASUS M2A-VM (AMD 690G with ATi x1250) Rs. 4000 + TAX

where as with Intel in C2D all you can manage is, E4300 with D965RY, now that isnt a better config than AMD X2 as with C2D E4300, unless u oc, the procy is not the best one to buy, and with ur budget u cant fit one good OC board...

So I would Suggest, Stick to AMD X2 :D
