Hello friends,

We need to build a high end PC for 2D/3D animation work. Mainly Adobe Animate CC will be used; sometimes Maya may be also used.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')

Ans: Animation work using Adobe Animate CC; occasionally Maya.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Rs. 75,000 max.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10 Home

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 250 GB SSD, 1TB HDD

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes, 22" FHD

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: NA

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within 15 days

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes, but this will be mainly built by an assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Pune. If available then locally, otherwise online is also fine.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Reliability is more important than performance. Please add a wireless keyboard/mouse and UPS also.

Please suggest a suitable configuration. :)

Thanks in advance!

Primeabgb shop is situated at Lamington Road Mumbai so call them & if possible visit them, you should be able to get a bit cheaper prices compared to their online prices when directly negotiating with them.

Thanks a lot @whitestar_999 for the detailed configuration!!

This looks quite robust, though I've few questions:

1. If GT 1030 GPU will be sufficient for our graphics work?
2. Do we really need 32GB RAM?

All else looks great.

I've bought lots of stuff from PrimeAbgb store; this time it may not be possible for us to travel Mumbai, but I'll definitely talk to them over phone for better prices.

Please suggest a SSD and HDD also.

Thanks again for your help!

I found this post which says adobe animate don't use graphics card at all:
Animate CC hardware acceleration & performance - Adobe Support Community - 10177151
"The Team" did not reply because Adobe animate is not using GPU at all, it uses CPU, and there is no option to turn the GPU on.... I just found this out today, when i imported 8,000 frames and it took ages....

Because of budget constraints I simply selected the least powerful card in gt1xxx series. If you know you have software which can use graphics card effectively then I can suggest otherwise but it will cross the budget.

Buy Online Kingston A2000 500GB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe SSD SA2000M8/500G In India --5800

Make your own combination of ssd+hdd from above depending on your needs.

It's really strange that Adobe Animate CC can't make use of GPU. It that case any GPU is fine.
Other Adobe software will be also used like, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier. So please check the GPU is sufficient.

Sorry, I missed to mentions these in the first post.

For RAM 32GB is required, or 16GB will work?

Thanks again!

See the links below & match it with your usage,I don't use these software so only you can get a clear idea from below links.Once you have done that then post about your opinions/queries here.

Great! Those pages have very detailed information.

Looking at those it looks like Adobe software require more of CPU power than GPU. Also Premiere Pro requires lots of RAM, so 32GB seems fine.
Here Premiere Pro can benefit from a better GPU with more VRAM, so is it better if we take a little more powerful GPU like one of these:

1. ZOTAC GTX 1050 Ti Mini 4GB
Buy Online ZOTAC GTX 1050 Ti Mini 4GB Graphic Card ZT-P10510A-10L - in India

2. ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 OC 4GB
Buy Online ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 OC 4GB Graphic Card ZT-T16500F-10L - in India

Both of these have more power requirements (75 watt) compared to GT1030 (30 watt). I hope it should work just with CX550 PSU?
Also does it requires some additional cooling?

Thanks!

Get zotac 1650 & don't forget to register it online on zotac India website within 28 days of purchase to get extra 3 years warranty so total warranty becomes 2+3=5 years(zotac will send an email(may take 1-2 days to 1-2 weeks & may even go to spam so keep checking) confirming registration & extra warranty which you must save as printout of that may be required for availing any warranty after 2 years). CX550 is more than enough for even nvidia 1660Ti & 2060. In fact if you don't overclock ryzen 3600 then even CX450 is more than enough for this system but CX550 is better as difference is just 1k & it gives you more headroom for future upgrades.

Excellent!

We will go with Zotac 1650, and register online for sure.
Now let me put all the parts together see how much does it cross the budget; I guess not much.

Thanks a lot for your timely help!

You could save some money by using a b450 motherboard, but x570 mobos are future proof and will run next gen amd cpus also if you wish to upgrade in near future.

His work is pretty cpu intensive so his processor usage will be ~80%+ most of the time. Because of this,a mobo with good VRMs is recommended & that's why X570 mobo is recommended as a B450/X470 mobo with similarly good VRMs(msi excluded because of their poor after sales support) costs similar. Asrock B450 Pro 4 is good for typical/home usage but not the best option for this scenario.

Initially I also thought about that but this looks like more future proof, in case we upgrade the GPU later on if required.
Thanks!

Gpu can be upgraded on b450 mobos also. Next gen amd cpu may not support b450. They will need b550 or 570 mobos.

MSI after sales support is worst & asus & gigabyte don't have any good B450 or even X470/X570 mobo significantly cheaper than suggested X570 mobo here so not many options.

Finally, these are the parts selected:

01. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 15,600
02. M/B: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS AMD X570 ATX 16,950
03. GPU: ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1650 OC 4GB 11,500
04. RAM: G.Skill RipjawsV F4-3200C16S-16GVK 16 GB DDR4 *2 10,660
05. SSD: Crucial MX500 2.5″ 250GB SATA III 3D SSD 03,450
06. HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 02,800
07. PSU: Corsair CX550 550 Watts 80 Plus 04,450
08. Cabinet: Corsair Carbide Series 100R Black 02,800
09. Monitor: LG 22MP68VQ-P 22 inch Full HD IPS 08,300
10. Logitech MK345 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo (Black) 01,900
11. UPS: APC 600 VA 02,800

Total cost: 81,210

Yes, the motherboard looks costly but not sure if there is any other suitable option. Overall budget crossed by 6K approx.
Now the hunt begins to get all the parts.

Thanks a lot friends!

Try to negotiate with primeabgb for most components, when you pay directly to them via cash/upi/bank account transfer then there is a discount of at least 100-200 on many products as it saves the commission charges of payment gateways.

P.S. you can save some more by paying via sbi simplysave credit card which gives effectively 2.5% worth reward points for all physical card transactions at stores but not sure how much prime charges for cc payments(in Delhi it is usually ~2%) as some big stores don't charge anything extra & as per rbi instructions no charge is supposed to be there for less than 2k transactions so if they also follow it(many stores don't follow this rule) then you can pay by dividing total amount into 40 transactions of 20k but again you will most likely need to call sbi card customer care as doing 40 transactions in a day will surely trigger their automatic fraud detection system.

OK sure! First we will try to get as many parts as much possible in Pune only, then will contact PrimeAbgb.
Thanks for the tip!

OK great! Unfortunately we don't have SBI card (I've Kotak), but I will check with my sis-in-law if she or anyone else in her family has that SBI card. (Actually she needs this PC for her Adobe training, etc. I'm just helping her in building the system). For sure, credit cards provide benefit in different ways! :)
Thanks!
