Hi,
I am planning to buy a new laptop around 40K. My requirements are

1) Heavy Browsing
2) Image editing applications -> Photoshop, Indesign, etc
3) Hardcore Gaming
4) HD Video playback is an added advantage.

Based on this i decided to go for a laptop with

1) 3rd Gen i5 or above or AMD APU 8/10
2) > 1.5 GB Graphics
3) 6 or 8 GB RAM
4) 320 or 500 GB Hard disk
5) Windows 8 (only because it has good battery mgmt else I can stay with Win 7 also)
6) USB 3.0

Which brand should i go and why. My Budget is around 40K

Also I went across to check Lamington Road.
Three shops there claimed the following configuration at around 30-35K (Including SONY brand)

1) 3rd Gen i7
2) 2GB Graphics
3) 8 GB RAM
4) 1TB HDD
5) Win 8 Genuine
6) Company Warranty

The brands they promised where Sony/DELL/HP

Are those configurations genuine? Can i purchase from those shops without any worry? Can anyone guide me into buying me a new laptop?

Let me warn you that there are many frauds on Lamington road who claims that they can give quad core I7 for 35K, those all are fake or grey market laptops, never fall for them.
and for requirement ( Hardcore Gaming ) Intel I5 should be the processor. how about this laptop. l

Screams fake. Even if they smuggle laptops, 35K sounds really dodgy. I would second 3rd gen i5 based gaming laptop.
Although I'd recommend HP Pavilion G4-2049TX Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 500GB/ DOS/ 1GB Graph) - HP: Flipkart.com over Sony - 3rd gen i5 with 7670M, much cheaper too.

Unless you're a sucker for looks.

Thank you guys for your valuable inputs. As far as the Sony laptop that Ron28 suggested, it has 2nd Gen Ci5 which i assume should be slower.

HP afaik doesn't offer much battery backup. How about this Dell model?

One more doubt. How about AMD APU A10/A8. On Computing alone what in Intel products can they be compared to?

Btw both the models are very good. Thank you guys.
