1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:

a.) General everyday work (internet, music, movies ...)
b.) Light music composition/production & Mixing (Fruity Loops, virtual DJ )
c.) Gaming - Microsoft Flight Simulator X & Sim City 5 ( Only these two games majorly as of now)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:

Max of Rs.25,000. Can extend upto 30 if really required

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:

Not as of now

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:

Either windows 7 or 8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:

500 Gb to 1 Tb ( Whichever is value for money. Can add a higher capacity later)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:

Have a very old 22 inch viewsonic. Not sure about the resolution.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:

Keyboard & mouse , DVD drive, Coolermaster 600W PSU

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:

Would buy within 2-3 weeks if I can decide on a configuration

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:

I will be able to assemble it myself.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:

Living in bangalore. Would prefer buying locally. Dont mind online store, would depend on the delivery times.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans:

I am setting this up with an intention of upgrading the system step by step later. Hence would love the system (atleast the CPU+mobo pair) be future proof atleast for medium level performance in games and other applications alike.

Thank you for the configs.

Just wanted to know if I have a choice of getting a good motherboard with Onboard graphics for the time being. I feel I can wait a few months to procure a good graphic card later.

I would like to re-use my CM600W PSU. Would that work with the configuration ?

which exact model?

also all amd 970 and higher series motherboards do not come with integrated gpu. the mobo the comes with igpu belongs to older gen chipsets. you better go for a good mobo like the one suggested.

that PSU may handle your rig but you better ditch CM Extreme Power Plus psus and better get a 400 / 450W PSU from Seasonic, Antec or if you are in a tight budget then corsair VS 450 is even better than what you have.
