Need ups suggestion

Hi, I'm fed up with file corruptions and data loss due to power cuts. I'm thinking of buying a ups. I dont to buy a ups for working on pc when electricity is gone, but just need it to save my work and safely shut down the system to prevent any data mishaps. I have windows 8 pro 64 bit and you can see my config in my signature.

Edit: exclusively for RCuber, as you've disabled signatures, so here's my config

i3 2100
intel dh61ww
seagate 500 GB
hynix 2x2 GB ram
corsair cx430v2
lg e2242c 22" led monitor.

Also, mention the price of the ups.

Availability shouldnt be a problem.
In my experience, along with good service, apc also has the best surge protection.

Btw, what is your budget ?

About 2k, I think 600 VA will be sufficient. What are the parameters affecting it's power output duration?

Oh my, I'm fed up with this double post problem. I'm not correcting it any more.

430w psu with 80% eff draws 537.5w from outlet, namely the ups.
A 600va ups has a power output capacity of 360w.

My 550va apc gives barely a few minutes of backup under idle load condition with a 500w psu.

^ Alright, 5 min will be enough for a safe shutdown. Thank You.

my apc 600va gives 15mins backup due to a less power hungry pc.. :p
btw, it's mostly just used to keep my wifi router powered on, so it gives more than 2hrs backup there.. :p (have'nt faced more than 2hrs power cut so can't say max backup time, but it was easily able to power the wifi router for 2hrs)

The config is not power hungry at all, should get good amount of time for back-up with APC 600VA/360W.

That is at a load of 430Watts.For different loads of the PC,the AC power requirement would be (Load/efficiency of the PSU at that time).

APC 600w eyes closed, will get 20 mins backup eyes closed. Get the model that automatically shuts the PC down when battery level drops below a certain point, a cable link allows the PC to monitor battery just like a laptop.

Now that's a nice feature, I'll try to get that.

I have an APC dealer in my city and is saying that BE650Y-in & BR800-IN are discontinued (but they are present on the APC India website). He's offering an APC 600 VA ups for Rs. 2300 without usb monitoring. Are those products really discontinued?

I checked with apc india, it has been discontinued. I'll be getting a 600 VA one, without battery monitoring. And luckily, I do have an apc service center in my city.
