Need Suggestions for CPU & RAM Upgrade.

Hi Guys.

I purchased a PC with following config during May 2018.

Now I would like to upgrade the CPU & RAM alone. Budget - 18k (Max)

Reason : My PC chokes when I use multiple tabbed browsing, some excel/word docs and Visual Studio running simultaneously.

I purchased it for Gaming. Far Cry 4 runs smoothly. Watch dogs, GTA 5 flickers even in medium settings. :-(

CABINET : CIRCLE MID TOWER CABINET (ATX) - CC821
HDD : WD1TB BLUE (WD10EZEX)
MONITOR : BENQ GW2270-VA 22 INCH
CPU : INTEL PROCESSOR PENTIUM DUAL CORE G4560
RAM : CRUCIAL DESKTOP RAM - 4GB (4GBx1) DDR4 2400MHz (CT4G4DFS824A)
PSU : CORSAIR SMPS CX450 - 450 WATT
MOBO : ASROCK H110M HDV R3.0 Motherboard
GFX CARD : SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 570 4GD5 Graphic Card 11266-04-41G

Kindly suggest.

Will it be future proof for another 3-4 years ?

What do I do with my existing CPU, Motherboard and RAM ?

instead of investing 8k on processor and 7k on board, can't we just put 15k on a good inter processor ? (retaining my current mother board?)

R5 1600 costs up to 8.5k. IMO there's no scenario where the AMD APUs are worth recommending. Instead of R5 APU, better to get R5 1600 + a used GPU. R3 APU's GPU is too weak, not to forget its just 4c/4t.

Intel processors are EOL or RIP nowadays compared with AMD.
Even the above setup with Ryzen 1st Gen is good. Go with it.

If you had B360/365 mobo, maybe yes. I think you can barely find an i5 9600KF for 15k. Then again it lacks a cooler in box, so another 3k for a decent cooler, also it needs Z390 to use overclocking. The i5 9400F & i5 9600 have cooler in the box but both of them perform similar to each other & aren't like way ahead of Ryzen 5 1600.

Also, it might be easier to sell CPU+mobo as a bundle.

Sorry for the wrong info earlier. Your mobo is H110, not H310, so it only supports Intel 6th & 7th gen CPUs. You can see above that R5 1600 is better in raw performance against i7 7700K & has better 1% low fps for games (higher 1% low mean lower fps fluctuations which hamper gaming experience).

Those performance details are based on CPU only ? or with GPU ?

Why are you not using a SSD in 2020 yet? Visual studio can choke even 16GB ram. If you want to run it properly, increase budget, get 32GB 3200Mhz ram in dual channel and a R5 3600 or R7 2700.

Due to budget issues, couldn't upgrade the PC as planned during April.

Planning to do it now. (Budget - 20k). Does the below config still holds good ??

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Mobo - Asrock B450 Pro4 ATX
RAM - 1x8GB DDR4 3000MHz

Planning to purchase them in a week.

R5 1600 would be hard to find but R3 3100 is a good choice of CPU. Also prices have increased a bit due to corona & China border issues. Otherwise, mobo & RAM are still good.

Mobo - Asrock B450 Pro4 ATX - 7.5k
RAM - 1x8GB DDR4 3200MHz - 4k
Total - 20.2k
