Need Multifunction Printer Under 3.5k

My dad needs to buy a multifunction inkjet printer (i.e. print, scan and copy).

Reason: The current printer, Canon iP1880 Inkjet, is going haywire. Plus, a multifunction will negate the need of going to the local xerox/scan shop for every other important document needs.

Budget: Under 3.5k strict.

Must-have features: Cheap cartridge price. And of course, the usual good quality scan/print/copy.

Where will you be buying from: Flipkart or locally (Guwahati).

I am thinking of going with Epson Stylus TX121 @3.049k. Any alternatives out there?

AFAIK, Epson makes the cheapest cartridges. Both HP and Canon are costly. Also Epson generally comes with 3 separate color cartridges as opposed to most HP & Canon which come with a single color cartridge. This will further reduce running cost.

The Epson TX121 looks good. You can go for it.

I think you don't have any other choice, if cartridge price us a matter of concern, then Epson fits the bill perfectly.

as told by skud, epson makes cheap cartridges & very low maintenance.
