I know that the difference between BSNL Type-I/II and Type-III/IV modem is that the former has only ethernet and USB port while the latter has wi-fi connectivity in addition to ethernet and USB. My question is what is the difference between a Type-III and Type-IV modem? They cost the same. I think the Type-IV has more ethernet ports but other than that what is the difference between the two types? Similarly the Type-II has 4 ethernet ports while the Type-I has only one ethernet port. But what is the difference other than the no of ports?

Hello aritrap,

Type I -> One USB + One Ethernet
Type II -> One USB + One Ethernet + Wifi Connectivity
Type III -> 4 USB + One Ethernet + Optional Wifi (one is in need to add a express card)
Type IV -> 4 USB + Wifi Connectivity

But what is the difference other than the no of ports?

Price.. as for performance none !! :) All works the same
