Hey guys recently got my SanDisk 16 Gb pendrive.
checked it's properties and found out that its formatted with Fat32.
now here is the question, few months ago i had a problem with my seagate external hdd,it stopped taking data from 324 gb and i did a online research and figured out that it was the problem with "FAT32" format so to fix the problem i took a backup of my whole drive which costed me few hours.
So before loading the pendrive with data should i re-format it to "NTFS" or should i leave the factory setting as it is?

if you are planning to carry a single file which is over 4 gb in size, then you should format it as NTFS, else let it be FAT32.

ntfs is mostly good. but if u plan to connect it to a mobile phone through otg i think ntfs will not work (exp from galaxy s3).

FTA32 is old but widely used format for all drives. It is supported in all the devices including mobiles but it's only con is that it can't hold a single file which is more than 4GB max. NTFS on the other side is a new and better format for all device but is not supported in all devices(some mobiles do support it) but it can hold all file sizes so it'll be NTFS if you are using on PC else FAT32 if you are planning to use it on mobiles.

how about formatting the PD with exfat ? General even I prefer ntfs and there's many apps with which help ntfs formatted PDs and memory cards can be read on android phones.

If you are going to use the smaller size of data transfer go with NTFS and for a file which is more than 4GB you have to format it with Exfat
