1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?
Ans: Primarily for gaming. Battle Field 3 (and the newer versions of it) and such games.

2. What is your overall budget?
Ans: 50-60K

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Haven't done that before. But I got a good head over my neck and keen ears.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 (Windows 8 if it's really worth it).

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB+

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes, a good 22 inches+ LED

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: DONT want suggestions on mouse, I have my options covered there.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: This weekend, if its all set.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I have done it before, but its been a while. My problems usually used to be seating the Processor on the MB. Not sure if it has become easier now. I have fried a cheap MB before by unintentionally shorting the MB circuit :(.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Thailand, its got a good place for components, shouldn't be a problem getting em.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I did a lil research and see many suggestions that i7 Haswell isnt great when compared to Ivy. More light here would be great. I used to be a AMD fan (No No, for Monopoly!0, but hey finally, I want a good CPU for myself.

Thanks for the help in advance guys!!

Ok, agreed.
How would you rate this rig though. Would you suggest any modifications (similar/comparable components, but cheaper).

May i know the reason why a i7 4XXX was not suggested here. Is AMD FX6300 superour to a a i7-4XXX

Did my tiny research on this one and it seems there could be issues if I go for a cooler - Source this URL
Asus m5a97 r2.0 [Solved] - Asus - Motherboards.

I just bought that board and a hyper 212 cooler last week and it fit fine. The cooler is a little close to the ram slot but its not close enough to touch it.

Also, from the config you suggested, just the processor and the graphic card will cost 60k which is your budget. It's highly unlikely you could get a decent i7 config in that.

i7 4820k cpu can only be installed on lga 2011 socket mobo. z87 chipsets are not supported by that cpu.
if you can go for high budget , get this mobo Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 Motherboard - Gigabyte: Flipkart.com for that cpu. also i would go for sesonic x760 psu. for case, consider corsair 400r

skip the ssd now and invest in gpu. for mobo get asus m5a97 evo r2.0 at around 8k.for psu get seasonic s12 ii 620/520. you can skip the cooler too and invest on a good cpu. you can buy a cooler when you eant to overclock. psu chosen by you is very bad.

> Skip the SSD.

> Skip the aftermarket cooler. Stock cooler is enough for light overclocks.

> Change the PSU to Seasonic S12II 520 W.
