Hi,
I'm looking for a combo of CPU, Graphics card & motherboard & stuck between 2 set of options. Both of the setups fits within Rs.20K-25K, which is my budget. I will be gaming mostly and no multitasking (read the Q/A I filled up). I want the best CPU clock speed & overall graphics possible. My options are:

1. AMD FX-8350 + MSI 970A-G46 AMD Motherboard + AMD/ATI HD 7750 1GB GDDR5
2. AMD A10-5800K + ASUS F2A85-M-PRO Motherboard + ASUS AMD/ATI HD 6670 1GB GDDR5 (CrossFire-ed with the APU Graphics)
3. AMD FX-8320 + ASUS M5A97 Motherboard + (AMD/ATI HD 7750 OR MSI AMD Radeon Cyclone PE/OC R6850 HD) 1GB GDDR5

-I don't know whether the MSI mobo I mentioned in the 1st option is the best but it is surely one of the cheapest. If there are any other good & cheap AM3+ motherboard and/or any graphics card that fits in the budget along with the FX-8350, please mention.

-Any suggestions regarding change in any of the three setups are welcome.

-As far as an Intel based setup is concerned, I'm aware of the Core i5 3570K CPU which is similarly priced as to that of the AMD FX-8350, but not sure about the motherboard & GPU. So, suggestions regarding these or any other Intel based setup are welcome.

-If you think that any other combo of these three viz. CPU, GPU & Mobo suits my requirements & budget better, please suggest.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run?
Ans: Mostly for playing games like Hitman Absolution, Assassin's Creed 3, FIFA-13, Max Payne 3, GTA 5 (when it releases). Want to play them without any hitches & lags at high settings. Besides gaming, basic programming, as I am a student.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: I will only buy CPU, Motherboard & Graphics card and hence the budget for the combo of these three only is Rs.20K-Rs.25K. I can extend only upto Rs.25K.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: If needed.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 (64-bit), Windows 8 (64-bit), Ubuntu.

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: Not included in the mentioned budget, I'll get 1TB.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No, I won't. I have ViewSonic VG1921wm 19" LCD with resolution 1440x900.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I will buy nothing except CPU-GPU-Motherboard.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within this month (i.e., May-2013).

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: I'm upgrading from my previous setup which was assembled by myself and so will be with my next one.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: I live in Kolkata, India. I will buy locally and if any one of the components is not available from my known shops, I'll opt to buy from Flipkart.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: The rig should serve me good for the next 2.5 to 3 years & I should be able to play the upcoming games at medium settings, atleast.

My recommendation:-

A10 5800 @ 8500 + MSI FM2-A55M-E33 @ 3600 + HD 7850 @ 13000 = 25000

Imo, A10 is for those people who dont want to buy a Discrete Card ... i3 also wont suit here since it is a dual core... So i5 is the only Choice ... i5 3470 + Gigabyte GAB75M + HD 7790 = 25k
Let others comment...

OP, please edit the combinations in the poll. Most of them are very unrealistic and idiotic.

Is the motherboard good enough?? I've heard of several people complaining about Gigabyte motherboards not lasting enough and weakly built PCI expansion slots...
Also, I read sumwhere that crossfiring a cheap discrete gfx card with the amd a10 enhances the graphics performance quite a times..is it not worth buying?

The motherboard is more than enough. Those complains would be a year or 2 old lol.

I haven't heard that anywhere, so no for me it isn't worth buying go with Sainatarajans cong.....
i5-3470 - 1100
Gigabyte GAB75 - 4100
Sapphire 7790 - 10000

Total ~25100
