You could get a basic HP Pavilion for that budget. Check out their site, customize it and speak to the sales guy over the phone. If you bargain well enough, you can get a good deal from the sales guy.

You can check up acer models, they're known for cheap yet superior quality
Dont know of model numbers as i don't rumble much with lappies

Go for Compaq presario laptop since acer & HP pavilion will not fit in to your budget.

Go for a HCL P38 PDC.....its a great laptop...even i have one of those..has 3 GB RAM,320 GB Hard Disc,Nvidia 8200 Graphics......Wifi,etc,etc,etc..

Only 1 drawback..Has No Preinstalled OS..
but should be quite easy to find an OS nowadays.....as for mere 100 bucks u can get Windows XP Installed..
