Need Help For Budget HTPC+Decent Gaming Rig ~25k~
Before I came here, I had researched on my own and found out that new bulldozer CPUs from AMD are not matching to their previous gen. So I came up with this following rig, but then when I went to market they said Phenom X4 are not available in stock and are likely never to come back. Now, I am confused and have no idea where to put my money in, so asking for help from you guys.
The build I wanted : Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition || ASUS M5A88-M || GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 || Corsair DDR3 4 GB ||
Cooler Master – 430W || Circle Chasis ||
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: It will be used to watch hd movies on my new 24" or 27" LED. I am an amateur user of Photshop and Premier Pro. My younger brother will also be using the same machine to play Assassins Creed, Portal and Call of Duty. I am not looking for high end gaming, anything that works decent will do.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: Excluding HDD and Monitor, my budget is 23k. I guess I can add 2-3k to it, if that gives more balanced rig.
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No.
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7 64 (Might upgrade to Windows 8 64 later)
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: I already have 1 TB + 500 GB from my previous rig.
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: I am planning to buy a Benq or Samsung LED 24". Res: 1920 x 1080 pixels.
(Might even opt for 27", if I get a deal under my budget of 16000 for monitor)
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: HDD, Keyboard+Mouse, Speakers, DVD writer : already have them.
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: First week of November.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Assembler.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: I'm from Ahmedabad, Guj. Might buy locally. Open to buying stuff online as long as its a trusted site.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I have a liking for AMD builds, but nothing against Intel. Not sure if I should go for entry-level or mid-level discrete GPU, suggestions are welcome.
