I have a BIG Geforce 8600GT card which I bought 3 years ago. The card seems to be in fine condition. It even boots up. But the problem is it displays colored vertical bands on the screen. Externally there doesn't seem anything wrong. All the capacitors seem to be in place and the memory chips look fine. The heatsink fan is also working properly. The DVI connector pins are also ok. It just has those vertical band problems otherwise the card runs without any problem. I tried all the listed solutions on the Nvidia faq page. I even tried thoroughly cleaning the card and removing all the dust. But still those vertical bands don't go away. I would've considered replacing the card but its warranty period is over.
Can anyone give me suggestions on repairing this thing? Is there a servicing centre in Mumbai where I can get it repaired?
